During the National Cycling Gala 2025, the IMPACT Award will be presented for the first time - an award for initiatives that use cycling as a means to encourage connection, vitality and innovation.
The IMPACT Award is a new part of the National Cycling Gala, which this year takes place on November 24. With this award, the organization wants to reward projects, individuals and organizations that do more than win: those who show that cycling not only connects sport, but also society.
From local cycling initiatives to national campaigns - any project that contributes to health, sustainability or social impact is eligible. The winner will receive an amount of €2,500, intended to further socially deploy the initiative in 2026.
Until Thursday, November 20, anyone can nominate an initiative via the nomination form. An expert panel including Club 48, Bob van Oosterhout, Tour de Force, Guido Klomp and the KNWU will compile a shortlist. During the National Cycling Gala on November 24, the panel will choose the winner of the IMPACT Award.
Quote: "With the IMPACT Award we want to show that cycling and society go hand in hand," said Ralf van Heugten of the Dutch Cycling Week and co-organizer of the National Cycling Gala. "Cycling connects people, inspires movement and contributes to a healthier world. That deserves a stage."
Until November 20, initiatives can be submitted via this online nomination form.
